Warheads were first invented in 1975 in Taiwan. Warheads are small ovals that come in different colors. These things are a sour candy lovers dream. In 1993 these candies were imported to the United States. Warheads are now known as the world's most popular extreme sour candy. The term Gobstopper derives from 'gob', which is slang in United Kingdom and Ireland for mouth. The sweet was a favorite among British schoolboys between World War I and World War II. In his children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, British author Roald Dahl described "Everlasting Gobstoppers", a fictional type of gobstopper that could never be finished. Gobstoppers have been sold in traditional candy shops for at least a CENTURY!! 💯

Oliver R. Chase invented a machine in 1847 to cut lozenges from wafer candy, similar to Necco Wafers, and started a candy factory. Daniel Chase, Oliver's brother, began printing sayings on the candy in 1866. They were given the name we know them as today, "Sweethearts" in 1901. Necco now produces 10 million to 14 million pounds of these iconic candies per year!🍬

The candy company called Just Born introduced their Mike and Ike confection in 1940. Mike and Ike were characters in a comic strip from the early 1900's by Rube Goldberg. This sweet treat is also kosher and gluten free!🍬
